AmberPoint Board Members Top Forbes Midas List

Promod Haque Honored as #1 Venture Capitalist on Annual Forbes List of Top VCs

Oakland, California, February 16, 2004 -- AmberPoint, Inc., is pleased to announce today that board member Promod Haque, managing partner at Norwest Venture Partners, has been recognized by Forbes magazine as the number-one venture capitalist on its annual list of the world's most successful investors in technology or life sciences startups. AmberPoint board member Bill Younger, managing partner at Sutter Hill Ventures, was also included on the prestigious "Midas List." Both men are charter members of AmberPoint's Board of Directors and were included on the Midas List in 2003 and 2002.

Forbes' annual Midas List identifies the individuals who most successfully use venture capital to create wealth for their investors. The list ranks VCs based on a formula that weighs the market capitalization of a venture-backed company as well as the change in value of each investment since going public or being sold. Ranking also depends on a venture capitalist's (or lawyer's, banker's or recruiter's) length of involvement and influence with a startup. The results are based on extensive reporting and surveys sent to 1,000 professionals, including VCs, angels, lawyers, bankers, recruiters and limited partners.

"Once again, the Forbes Midas List has recognized the exceptional talent and vision on our board,” said John Hubinger, AmberPoint CEO. “Both Mr. Haque and Mr. Younger are brilliant business leaders dedicated to the success of the companies they back. The accomplishments and industry standing of AmberPoint's Board of Directors continue to reflect the leadership and commitment that AmberPoint brings to the industry and to its customers."
