AmberPoint Named Most Innovative and Most Influential Web Services Management Vendor by Respected Analyst Firm.

Ovum Recognizes AmberPoint as Industry Leader in Recent Report

Oakland, California, December 10, 2003 -- AmberPoint, Inc., the leading provider of Web services management software, announced today that analyst firm Ovum has recognized AmberPoint as the most innovative and influential pure-play Web services management vendor.

In a recent research report, entitled "Web Services Management" (Ovum, November 2003), AmberPoint is ranked among other Web services and Web services management vendors for innovation and market influence. In the report, AmberPoint is shown as the most innovative company in the market. The company also leads all pure-play vendors in market influence, according to the report. Ovum classified Web services management solutions from both established enterprise systems management vendors and pure-play companies such as AmberPoint. The report attributes AmberPoint’s high profile, in part, to the company’s numerous customer successes.

"Continuous innovation is one of our highest priorities," said John Hubinger, CEO of AmberPoint. "We're honored that Ovum has recognized our efforts in Web services management. As enterprise adoption of Web services continues to increase, we will introduce additional solutions for managing the complex, loosely coupled systems that will arise."

Leading the Industry
AmberPoint’s contributions to the industry include:

  • First agent-based architecture for Web services management software

  • Only completely non-invasive Web services management solution, requiring no additional coding or modifications to Web services, clients or SOAP messages

  • First Web services management vendor with solutions that run natively in both Java and on the Microsoft .NET Framework

  • Industry’s first comprehensive service level management solution for Web services

  • Industry’s first distributed solution for exception handling

Subsequent to the report’s completion, AmberPoint announced its latest product offering, a developer’s edition of its software that is designed to foster enterprise adoption of Web services. Available at no charge from the AmberPoint website, AmberPoint Express enables developers to monitor, diagnose and debug their Web services to ensure that they meet enterprise standards for performance and reliability. The company also recently announced that AmberPoint Express will be distributed with Microsoft Visual Studio “Whidbey.”
