"CrossWeave brings additional world-class products and expertise in distributed computing to AmberPoint, extending our management solutions, growing our pool of funding and expanding our revenue potential,” said John Hubinger, AmberPoint CEO. “Acquiring CrossWeave will enable us to deliver greater value to enterprise customers that must manage complex, distributed Web services systems, and will open new avenues for partnerships with such Web services leaders as BEA and IBM.”
CrossWeave’s executive team pioneered composite applications, allowing companies to integrate web applications for use in numerous environments, such as portals, management consoles, e-procurement and CRM desktops. CrossWeave solutions enable companies to repurpose and combine web applications, integrate internal and external applications, and Web services-enable their existing applications.
“The nature of Web services environments calls for centralized management of highly distributed, federated components,” said Paul Butterworth, AmberPoint chief technology officer. “By bringing together AmberPoint’s leading Web services management solutions and CrossWeave’s composite applications technology, we open up new possibilities for creating Web services-based systems that deliver greater business value.”
"We’re impressed with AmberPoint’s products and the management team’s ability to gain rapid traction in the Web services market,” said Sean Fitts, CrossWeave co-founder and chief technology officer. “CrossWeave’s experience in building services-based software is a powerful complement to AmberPoint’s capabilities. Combining our technology and our expertise will result in solutions that enable companies to better manage and secure their Web services implementations.”
The acquisition comes on the heels of AmberPoint’s recently announced development agreement with Microsoft. AmberPoint continues to forge high-caliber relationships with leading software companies, such as BEA, IBM, Microsoft and Sun, in addition to growing its customer base with marquee companies such as Boeing, British American Tobacco, Fujitsu, MetLife and TransCanada. The industry has recognized AmberPoint for its technology and market leadership including the Red Herring Top Innovator and San Francisco Business Times HotTech awards.
