AmberPoint’s Chief Architect to Discuss SOA Runtime Governance at Service-Oriented Architecture Technical Symposium 2007

Sean Fitts to Present a Best Practices and Case Study on SOA Governance at Defense Symposium

Oakland, California, July 25, 2007 -- AmberPoint, the industry's leading provider of SOA runtime governance software, is pleased to announce that its Chief Architect, Sean Fitts, will deliver a presentation on SOA Management at the upcoming Service-Oriented Architecture Technical Symposium 2007. Mr. Fitts will discuss practical approaches to governing the runtime of heterogeneous, distributed SOA systems, and will review a large customer’s success at gaining visibility into and control of an expansive service network. The Service-Oriented Architecture Technical Symposium is being held at the MITRE Facilities in Suffolk, Virginia, July 25-27, 2007.

What:
The Service-Oriented Architecture Technical Symposium 2007 will discuss practical approaches to building federated SOA solutions in the defense community. The C4ISR Community is challenged to improve war fighter and intelligence effectiveness. The Federated approach to information sharing is a key strategy for achieving this goal. This is driving DOD and Intelligence Community CIOs, Enterprise Architects and business planners to leverage service-oriented architecture, an IT architecture that promises greater interoperability and data transparency.

In his presentation, Mr. Fitts will review SOA mandates, discuss current SOA best practices and provide an in-depth look at a large organization leveraging AmberPoint’s SOA runtime governance solutions. He will drill down into considerations for:

  • Understanding the service network topology

  • Ensuring the operational health of the service network

  • Managing performance and availability

  • Delivering appropriate service levels

  • Detecting and diagnosing exceptions in the service network’s behavior

  • Securing the service network

  • Ensuring the integrity of the service network as it evolves
