AmberPoint Signs Prominent New Customers to Extend Global Market Leadership

SOA Runtime Governance Leader Adds Significant Customers in Energy, Healthcare, Travel, Defense, Financial Services, Telecommunications and Government Industries

Oakland, CA, July 24, 2006 -- AmberPoint today announced that it has added a number of new customers to the impressive roster of companies that have selected its software, extending its leadership in the service oriented architecture (SOA) runtime governance market. AmberPoint's new customers span the globe and point to the growing adoption of SOA across industries. AmberPoint is the market-share leader for SOA runtime governance software, having signed significantly more customers than all its competitors combined.

AmberPoint's new customers include healthcare providers Ancillary Care Management and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska; financial services provider Lehman Brothers, insurance providers Federated Mutual Insurance Co and Mondial Assistance; Norway's Vital Forsikring ASA; technology providers Information Builders, Inc., ITPlus and Keane Australia Micropayment; telecommunications provider Telefónica Spain; defense industry vendor Northrup Grumman; Japanese energy company Osaka Gas; Chilean carrier Lan Airlines; and Ministerio de Economía y Hacienda of the Government of Spain.

In recent months AmberPoint also completed significant follow-on business with existing customers, signed a number of other new customers across a variety of industries, and completed licensing business with industry partners. AmberPoint is consistently chosen over its competitors for its comprehensive management capabilities, its non-invasive approach to managing service-oriented systems, and its native support for both .NET and Java platforms.

"AmberPoint is the gold-standard when it comes to SOA management and governance," said John Senor, president of iWay. "After a rigorous evaluation, we decided on AmberPoint as our SOA runtime governance vendor of choice. They’ve got the most comprehensive solution and integrate easily into any environment. Bottom line, AmberPoint just looks at the issue the right way."

AmberPoint's new customers signify the company's growing traction around the world. AmberPoint is also growing its international presence. In related news today, AmberPoint also announced the appointment of Willie Kirkpatrick as vice president of AmberPoint EMEA and Dan Lascell as vice president and legal counsel (see "AmberPoint Expands Executive Team with Addition of Vice President of EMEA and Vice President and Legal Counsel"). AmberPoint's products are distributed and supported on six continents, used in 63 countries around the globe, and available in eight languages.

"The movement to SOA is truly a global phenomenon," said John Hubinger, president and CEO of AmberPoint. "We’re seeing a shift from early R&D projects to production deployments of SOA, and with this shift there’s a corresponding increase in follow-on licensing of our software. Companies that are serious about SOA consistently turn to AmberPoint for runtime governance of their loosely coupled systems. We expect to see this trend continue and are confident that our strategy to expand our presence internationally will pay rich dividends."
