“Bob has a tremendous breadth and depth of experience in the software industry," said Bill Younger, partner at Sutter Hill Ventures. "He has been the chief financial officer of several very successful enterprise software companies, has managed growth at a number of stages, and has directed acquisition and merger events. His keen understanding of financial operations will be increasingly valuable as AmberPoint continues to generate revenue through its growing portfolio of paying customers.”
During his tenure at Documentum, Corey helped transform the company into the enterprise content management market leader. In his role as executive vice president and CFO, he helped the company grow revenues, gain market share and improve shareholder value. Prior to Documentum, Corey was CFO at Forte Software, where he directed the company’s successful merger with Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: SUNW). Earlier in his career, Corey held executive management positions at Western Digital and Ashton-Tate Corporation, where he was a key contributor in the company’s merger with Borland International. Corey earned his certificate as a certified public accountant while at Arthur Andersen earlier in his career.
“AmberPoint has garnered considerable attention in a short period of time, which is a testament to the strength of the team, their vision, and their innovative product,” said Corey. “This is an ideal situation to apply the experience I gained working with companies at various stages of growth to help move AmberPoint forward.”
“It was crucial for us to round out our board with Bob’s level of software industry financial experience,” said John Hubinger, AmberPoint CEO. “His success at Documentum and Forte is indicative of his ability to build strong organizations. He will be a valuable asset as AmberPoint builds a world-class infrastructure to support our growth.”
Corey joins other veteran executives on the AmberPoint board of directors, including Promod Haque, partner at Norwest Venture Partners; Bill Younger, partner at Sutter Hill Ventures; Nicholas Moore, retired global chairman at PricewaterhouseCoopers; and John Hubinger, president, chairman and CEO of AmberPoint.
