AmberPoint Express Ships with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005

Internationalized Web Services Developers Software Will Help More than 300,000 Visual Studio 2005 Developers Worldwide Prepare Web Services for Production

Oakland, California, November 7, 2005 -- AmberPoint, the leading provider of service-oriented architecture (SOA) runtime governance software, today announced that the developer’s edition of its management software for the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is available today in the box with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and via downloads from the Microsoft MSDN website. AmberPoint Express is the most widely distributed software of its kind--already in use by corporate and government accounts in 63 countries across six continents.

As part of this international release, AmberPoint Express has been localized and translated into eight new languages. AmberPoint Express is now available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. AmberPoint has support centers and partner support centers in all regions in which the localized products are distributed.

“AmberPoint Express is a good complement to Visual Studio 2005,” said S. Somasegar, corporate vice president of the Developer Division at Microsoft Corp. “The visibility and insight into Web services performance that AmberPoint Express provides allow Visual Studio 2005 developers to easily diagnose and fine-tune their Web services for enterprise use.”

An Introduction to Enterprise-Class SOA Management
AmberPoint Express has introduced many customers to AmberPoint’s full suite of enterprise-class SOA runtime governance software. Developers from companies such as H&R Block Financial Advisors, Hawaii Medical Services Association and MedicAlert began testing their initial Web services with AmberPoint Express and later upgraded to enterprise editions of AmberPoint.

“We were impressed with the amount of functionality AmberPoint delivered right out of the box,” said Scott Thompson, Head of Application Development at H&R Block Financial Advisors. “It automatically discovered my Web services and provided rich information on performance without requiring any coding of management functionality to the Web services themselves. Our experience with AmberPoint Express helped us select AmberPoint to manage our entire SOA-based system.”

AmberPoint Express Capabilities
AmberPoint Express provides real-time insight into the performance of Web services to aid developers in readying their applications for deployment. The combination of Microsoft’s leading Web services development tools and the monitoring and management capabilities in AmberPoint Express enables developers to quickly and cost-effectively build, validate and deploy Web services that are ready for business-critical use.

Tightly integrated with Visual Studio 2005, AmberPoint Express provides visibility into the performance and behavior of Web services in test environments, enabling fine-tuning before deployment. The software improves the speed, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of preparing Web services for production in a .NET Framework-based environment. The software has been awarded the Editor’s Choice award by Web Services Journal. AmberPoint Express is also available in versions for Java.

“AmberPoint Express is already the most widely distributed SOA management software on the planet,” said John Hubinger, CEO of AmberPoint. “With SOA adoption growing rapidly, we’re excited that legions more Visual Studio 2005 developers will now have access to the capabilities they require to take their SOAs into production.”
