AmberPoint is building an engineering team in Pune, India. The team in Pune will mirror our operation in Oakland, California. Product teams in both locations will own projects from conception through design, development, delivery, maintenance, and support. The product strategy, architecture, and a single set of tools, processes, and procedures will unify the distributed development team.

Development Engineer: Applications

Job responsibilities:

AmberPoint engineers drive projects to market by:

  • Personally delivering the requirements definition, project plan, detailed design, code, unit tests, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Working hand-in-hand with documentation, product quality engineering, training and customer support personnel to deliver user manuals, stress, load, longevity tests, customer training material and direct customer support and patches.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for this position will satisfy most of the following requirements:

  • Six (6) years of UI development experience with Java/C#, ASP.NET, HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, etc.
  • A track record of success as a lead GUI designer and implementer for a shipping product.
  • Solid experience designing, implementing, maintaining enterprise-level system management, process management, or collaboration tools
  • A demonstrated, practical interest in the design and architecture of user interfaces, preferably tools for professional developers and business users.
  • A BS or MS in Computer Science

Development Engineer: Distributed System

  • Solid experience designing, implementing, maintaining enterprise-level system management, process management, or collaboration tools.
  • A BS or MS in Computer Science

Development Engineer: Product Quality

AmberPoint Product Quality Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining product-level stress (load, longevity, and performance), interoperability, and system-integration tests. System-integration testing is an on-going, iterative effort that includes building sample applications, tutorials, and demos in-sync with the product’s development.

We are seeking engineers with vision, ideas, and a product-driven approach. We are not restricting our search to QA professionals. We are open to leaders with a track record of success in Product Development, Consulting, or Technical Support who aren’t satisfied with incremental improvement on industry norms.

Some givens:

  • PQE is not a watchdog function.
  • The PQE team is an active partner (with development, support, and product marketing) on project teams throughout the product development cycle.
  • The PQE team adds unique, customer-visible value by developing product-level stress, interoperability, and system-integration tests.
  • The developers build and execute the regression tests that validate all check-ins.

The successful candidate must have 8 years of experience delivering system software products to market. Deep knowledge of Java / C#, HTML, XML, and JavaScript is expected. Experience with multiple platforms (Windows, Solaris, Linux, .Net), application servers (WebSphere, WebLogic, IIS, Tomcat), and Web services is desired. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an applicable major is required. Excellent verbal and written communications are required.
